As designers, we all at times suffer from creative diseases like imposter syndrome, self-sabotage, etc. At times the inner critic makes us doubt our own abilities. Maybe even self-sabotage career promising situations! What if the conventional wisdom taught in design schools is all wrong?

To find answers, I conducted interviews with creative leaders at startups, Fortune 500 companies over the past three years. After analyzing hours of recording transcripts, I noticed that the designers who succeed in not screwing up their career have these four themes in common:

- They open-sourcing learnings.
- They use a Career Compass
- They develop an Identity Map

In this heartfelt talk, I will share my personal journey of overcoming these creative diseases.
